Mr. Case has been in the business management community for more than 35 years. He is one of the founding partners of Training JumpStart Ltd. (formerly InfoTollgate Ltd.), a developer and vendor of Web based training technologies for small and midsize businesses. Prior to then, Mr. Case held various positions with Gartner Inc. from research director to division president.

A stroke, in 2008 forced Mr. Case to temporarily retire. However, he has sufficiently recovered to pursue a variety of part-time business activities.

Employment History

Training JumpStart Ltd.  (2001 – present). Mr. Case is a partner in InfoTollgate Ltd. The company provides various web-based technologies to firms in the research and training businesses. The company started out as a consulting firm, and Mr. Case provided business and consulting services to a wide variety of clients, including serving on several boards of directors.  In 2009, the company enhanced its InfoTollgate|FastLane product, and exclusively on supporting the training market.

ES Research Corp. (Research Fellow. 2006 -- present). Mr. Case is a research fellow for this provider of sales training and sales training technology research. Mr. Case provides monthly research advice and guidance to the ESR team.

Gartner Inc. (1989 – 2001). Mr. Case joined Gartner as an analyst in 1989. During his tenure with the company he was an analyst, service director, senior vice president and division president. 

As an analyst, Mr. Case covered a variety of business and application development topics. 

As a service director, Mr. Case was responsible for the business process reengineering service

He served as group vice president responsible for new product development, senior vice president for business development (mergers and acquisitions) before starting Gartner’s business consulting division – Gartner|eMetrix, of which he was division president. That division was merged into Gartner|Measurement were Mr. Case served as senior vice president for the US, Canadian, South American, Asia-Pacific and Australia regions. 

Finally, Mr. Case launched a series of services for technology investors. Mr. Case departed Gartner with his longtime associate to pursue a long-held passion for starting a training related business.

Nastec/Transform Logic Corporation. (1986  – 1989). Mr. Case started with Nastec is the product manager for their new project management technology – Nastec/LifeCycle Manager. He quickly progress through the ranks to head up all of Nastec’s product management activities. He then founded Nastec’s Professional Services Division which grew to be the largest revenue generator in the company. In 1988, the company merged with publicly traded Transform Logic Corporation. The resulting company was managed by Nastec Corporation’s existing management team. While professional services were both large and highly profitable, Mr. Case realized that management was intent on focusing the company as a software provider, rather than as a services company. Mr. Case saw the technologies being displaced and joined Gartner Inc. after being recruited as an analyst.

Ryder System/Automotive Carrier Division. (1983-1986). Mr. Case began his career is the manager of MIS for the M&G Convoy division of this multi-company auto hauling company. Within the first year of employment, he was promoted to director of MIS for all of their common carrier subsidiaries. While at Ryder, Mr. Case was responsible for developing a variety of information technology products which were offered and sold to the major automotive companies.  He left the company to pursue a career in the vendor community with Nasten Corporation.

Marine Midland Bank. (1980 – 1983). Work in their information-technology department in a variety of roles as a systems officer and senior systems officer. He was recruited by Ryder System.

Maximus Systems Inc. (now, HSBC) (1974 – 1979). Mr. Case built and sold the Maximus COBOL code generation system. Company was sold in 1979. Mr. Case was in college and elected not to relocate.

1972 – 1974.  Worked in a variety of information technology positions, both full-time and part-time while attending college.

1979 – 1986. Adjunct faculty for Niagara University, the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB) and Bryant & Stratton Business Institute. . Mr. Case reluctantly resigned his faculty positions when is full-time employer transferred to Detroit, Michigan.

Education

State University of New York at Buffalo. (1974 – 1979). Received a BS in business administration/management science while attending part-time. Later, taught in the school of management at the Millard Fillmore College.

Niagara University. (1972 – 1974). Attended two years full-time. Left to pursue a degree in management at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
